The Best Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout Fishing in North America

Drive In or Fly In - Your Choice

Location

Davin Lake Lodge and Wathaman Outpost are located in Northern Saskatchewan, far enough away from civilization to ensure that our lakes are not over-fished, and yet close enough that you can still drive to the camp. For a Google Map of our location, click here.

Our fishing camps are located roughly 650 miles north of the US/Canadian border.  Davin Lake Lodge and Wathaman Outpost are located approximately 168 miles north of La Ronge Saskatchewan on Highway 102 (GPS coordinates are North 56 deg 52.385, West 103 deg 35.581). The closest city is Prince Albert, which is 310 miles from the camps.

Our base camp is accessible by well maintained dirt roads or by light aircraft--unlike many outfitters in Northern Saskatchewan, flying in is not required in order to access our world-class fishing.

Getting To Us By Road

The map to our location may be seen above. Note that currently the final 130 miles of this road is gravel.  At Junction Mile 121 (Southend) you will turn left heading north on Highway 905 another 46 miles.  There is a sign for Davin Lake Lodge where you will turn left.  The lodge is about one mile off the highway.  Guests headed for Wathaman Outpost stop at Davin Lake Lodge first, and complimentary transportation from Davin to Wathaman is provided.

Getting To Us By Air

Adjacent to Davin Lake Lodge is an 1,800 foot aircraft runway which is 150 feet wide with a smooth, oil treated landing base.  It runs 210 degrees magnetic, at an altitude of 1,200 feet above sea level. Our airport identifier code is CKW6 and the strip is located at 56' 52` 26 North, 103' 35 20 West.  La Ronge Airport is recommended for a refueling stop.  Our strip supports most light aircraft types at it heads out over the lake and therefore involves no obstacles on take off.

We have also arranged a special rate with a float plane operator who will pick guests up at Saskatoon and fly them directly to Davin Lake Lodge or Wathaman Outpost. Please check our 'Specials' section above for more information on this charter service.

Planes Parked At Davin Lake Lodge

There are alternative transportation means to get to our camps.  United, Delta, Air Canada and Northwest serve Saskatoon through Denver, Minneapolis, Calgary, Edmonton, etc. Transwest Air also has scheduled service between Saskatoon and La Ronge (168 miles from camp) and Points North (120 miles from camp). If you fly into Points North we can arrange to pick you up.

Aside from driving, the most economical way to travel is to fly commercially to Saskatoon, rent a car and drive to our camps (approximately eight hours).

We have discounts available thru Avis and the airlines serving the area.  Please call before you make any reservations so that we can make the most economical arrangements for you.
